Last night I went to see my parents. It had been too long since I had last spent any time with them: Three weeks at least. I don’t like those long gaps but I’ve had an insane amount of work. I’ve been trying to meet all my insane deadlines before going on vacation and I am finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! MelinaMorel.com will be 100% complete by Friday with the exception of the original music which will have to be composed when we get back. I can’t wait for Saturday! I’ve needed a vacation for a while now.
I got to see my brother who gave me a grand tour of all the new “old” stuff he’s found in estate sales. He gave me this awesome set of silverware he purchased last year at one of these sales for like $10. The flatware dates back to 1907 and is engraved with an ornate “G” which made me think of Rob right away but actually stands for the well known Gorham brand. They just don’t make things like this anymore. I am looking forward to restoring them. He also gave me an old copy of Dante’s Inferno with gorgeous prints in it that I want to scan in.
Later we went over Carmy’s house and chilled for a bit as I tried to sketch a tattoo for her ankle. I’ll have to give it some thought. She wants a mix of Mucha, Victorian filligree and an African Violet. I introduced Carmy to my new shopping obsession over at Etsy.com and I can already tell that’s gonna be trouble. It’s so addictive and there is so much gorgeous stuff to buy!
Two of my friends are on there! Check out their stuff!!!
