Flaming June

Distilled, a continuous earthquake
Trembling, eyes closed, dreaming awake
Cool, soft, calculated, a delicious caress
You soothe and threaten the darkest parts of me
Wanting nothing more than to feel you inside me,

I dwell under hollow skies, under glass
Stars shine just beyond my reach
I’m drowning

Which music, which music played while I slept?
No ear so dull that could not hear it!
In these eyes, a flame, a charm, a tear?
I weep for such joyous notes–so pure
That drift upwards, crash
Then disappear

Assume the worst
Expose the weakness?

Murmur, murmur in my ear,
Tell me all the things I long to hear!
