True Company

Warm, like the summer solstice, melting the icy coldness
Your voice speaks of valuable lessons and yet,
I am not adrift, my friend…
Don’t misunderstand my whimsical imaginings
My heart has not grown cold to the warmer pleasures
Of true company
I am swept away, loose myself in communiques
Lose myself in every way
The gravity of soul-felt meanderings
What makes me me
I cannot live or breathe in this linear equality
I cannot find happiness standing still
It is the beauty of the journey that makes
This heart of mine sing
